the idea is to put weird and useful shortcuts and tips in game play that could be easy to miss but took one or more of us a dumb long time to stumble upon.

i'll try and keep this post as an edited version so that we don't have to hunt through the tips, but i'm doing short summaries so more details below.

you can right click on turn ins to pull up a menu that only has the correct item in it.

    1. Did someone just send you a /Tell and you want to quickly respond? The default keyboard shortcut is ALT-R, and you can use /r.
    2. "Sometimes"(almost always), zooming the camera all the way out during a battle can make a huge difference.
    3. Make sure to register your 3 "favored Destination" Aetherite Crystals for locations you travel to often. 1/2 price!
    4. If you focus too much on your skill bar times, you may not notice the pool of lava you are standing in.
    5. At Story Line Level 20, you can finally get your Chocobo mount form your grand company.
    6. Make sure to feed your Chocobo Gysahl Greens before fights after completing the "My Feisty Little Chocobo" quest (lvl 30) to use it as a companion to fight/heal alongside you. (and assign skill points as it levels)
    7. Many times, if the mob has it's back to you, you can run right past it without drawing agro it.
    8. During dungeons, move your Loot Notification towards the center of your screen so you don't forget to roll for your loot.
    9. Add "Limit Break" ability (Actions/Traits: General) to your hotbar to be used in dungeons, when LB display fills up.
    10. Your chocobo has large saddlebags you can store stuff in and you get 2 free Retainers that each has their own inventory to store your stuff.
    11. You can gear up your retainers with your hand me downs before sending them out on missions to bring back some goodies for you.
    12. Picked up a Leve quest and got to the area designated on the map and now what? Open the Journal (J), go to the quest and click the "Initiate" button.
    13. When buying items on the trade market, make sure you go to the home city of the seller. Otherwise, you pay a delivery fee that is some percentage of the item cost.
    14. Right Click on Item Turn-ins to quickly select items from the popup without having to go to your inventory.

    ----courtesy of bulldog----
you can make a gear set and hot bar the set, to switch classes at a button press.

you can proc the rewards for "adventurer in need" as many times as you want.

it's actually faster to travel to Limsa Lominsa use the aethernetwork to the archanists guild and hop on the fairy to the vesper bay. (to get to the waking sands)

you can set alarms in game.(under "Actions & Traits"{default bind 'p'} in the "Extras" category)

certain pieces of gear can be put into the Armoire without a glamour prism and can still be used with plates

you can use the /sit command while fishing -thanks shin-

it is possible sell more/less using the scroll wheel.

i'll start with the fact that you can right click on turn ins to pull up a menu that only has the correct item in it.

When you're in Eureka and keep forgetting to switch your Magia Board to accommodate for what you're fighting, you can use "/magiaauto offense" or "/magiaauto defense" to have your board automatically switch based on what you target. Now all you have to worry about is forgetting to use the command.

You can also turn off the function with "/magiaauto off."

Also, from the Emotes screen you can enable/disable the chat log displaying your emote actions in case you want to spam emotes, for whatever reason you may have to spam emotes (i.e. mashing different Ranger poses in order to look like a Techno Viking wannabe).

You can duel other players at the Dueling Circle in Wolves' Den Pier (La Noscea region), the place you go to spend PVP tokens.

Levels and Item Levels are not sync'd during duels and if you leave a duel by warping into an instance through the Duty Finder, it will be treated as if you had forfeited the match. During a duel, your characters will be isolated in the sense that players not involved in the duel cannot heal or hurt you or your opponent in order to cheat and you are only able to damage your designated opponent.

You can /sit while fishing and you'll pull out a small stool to sit on.

Where you pull it out from? I'll never tell.

Some gear can be stored in the Armoire instead of the Glamour Dresser and used for glamour plates, saving you a Glamour Prism.

You'll know that an item can be stored in the Armoire if the Armoire icon is lit up in the upper-right corner of the tooltip (right icon) of any given applicable piece of equipment (FIGURE-1). This is typically limited to Artifact Armor (Lv. 50 Job armors), Seasonal Event items (Endless Summer), Achievement awards (Chocobo Suit), and Exclusive Extras (certain swimsuits, old veteran glamours such as Strife and Leonhart sets).

If you want to check if a piece of equipment in your Glamour Dresser can be stored in the Armoire, you have to "Try On" the item and mouse over the gear in your Fitting Room window in order to see item's tooltip. Because mousing over items inside the Glamour Dresser window will only show you the item's level and any dyes applied to it (FIGURE-2).

I *just* found this out while tinkering with my glamour plates.

turns out you can adjust the quantity value (when buying/selling to/from vendors) by mousing over it and using the scroll wheel up or down.
